Sight Unseen

On a recent trip to my home town, Toronto, there was a bit of time to take in the old neighbourhood.
A side trip was made in response to paintings made many years later as a young artist.
Focusing on family my work became a touchstone of early memories.
I found my parents home basically intact and fairly closely resembling the memories I carry. It is located in a busy downtown neighbourhood with my grandparents home just around the corner. Both are just down the street from the park as I remembered.
Later, in conversation with my father the timeline grew to include his childhood days growing up in the depression of the nineteen twenties.
